When do PSAT scores come out? 2026–27 dates

If you took the PSAT/NMSQT this fall, your scores will come out on October 22, November 5, or November 12, 2026. Which date is yours depends on when your school sent in its tests, not on the day you sat for the test.
That's why your friend at another school might get their scores two weeks before you do. Here's how to figure out your date, how to check your scores, and what to do once you have them.
Fall 2026 PSAT score release dates
| If your school submitted tests by | Your school sees scores | You see scores |
|---|---|---|
| October 9, 2026 | October 20 | October 22 |
| October 23, 2026 | November 3 | November 5 |
| October 30, 2026 | November 10 | November 12 |
These dates apply to everything given in the fall in-school window, October 1 to 30: the PSAT/NMSQT, the PSAT 8/9, and the SAT School Day.
Which release date is yours?
Schools give the PSAT on different days within the October window, and then submit the completed tests to College Board. Your scores are released based on that submission date.
Say you tested on October 14. Your school missed the October 9 cutoff, so if it submitted by October 23, your scores come out November 5. If your school tested early in October, you'll probably see scores on October 22. If it tested at the end of the month, plan on November 12.
Not sure? Ask your school counselor. They'll know when your school submitted.
Why your school sees scores first
Schools get access to scores two days before students do. So if your counselor mentions results before you can see your own, that's normal. Yours are coming.
Spring 2027 PSAT 10 and PSAT 8/9 dates
The spring in-school window runs March 1 to April 30, 2027, and covers the PSAT 10, PSAT 8/9, and SAT School Day.
| If your school submitted tests by | Your school sees scores | You see scores |
|---|---|---|
| March 12, 2027 | March 30 | April 1 |
| March 26, 2027 | April 13 | April 15 |
| April 9, 2027 | April 27 | April 29 |
| April 30, 2027 | May 11 | May 13 |
If your state gives the PSAT or SAT as part of state testing, your scores may follow the state's own timeline. Check with your school.
How to check your PSAT scores
There are three ways to get your scores.
Your College Board account. If you're 13 or older, sign in at studentscores.collegeboard.org. Use the account tied to the email you entered in Bluebook on test day. If you sign in with a different account, your scores won't be there. Your online report also shows the questions tied to each skill, which is the most useful part for planning what to study next.
The BigFuture School app. The app is for U.S. students age 13 or older. If you gave a mobile number on test day, College Board will text you a download link, and you sign in with that phone number. If you didn't, you can still sign in with the test registration number from your score report or sign-in ticket. The app is optional; your College Board account shows the same scores. If you're outside the U.S. or under 13, use your College Board account (13 and older) or get your report from your school.
Your school. Your school will also give you a copy of your score report once it's released. If you can't find your scores anywhere, your counselor can help.
What your PSAT score means
The PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 are scored from 320 to 1520, with Reading and Writing and Math each scored from 160 to 760. The PSAT 8/9 uses a lower scale: 240 to 1440 total, with each section scored from 120 to 720. Our guide to understanding your PSAT score breaks down what's a strong result for your grade.
If you're a junior, your score report also includes a National Merit Selection Index. That's the number that decides whether you qualify for National Merit recognition. You can calculate it yourself with our National Merit Selection Index calculator and compare it to last year's National Merit cutoffs by state. We've also written a full guide to how National Merit works.
Turn your PSAT into an SAT plan
Your PSAT score is the best preview you'll get of your SAT score, since the two tests cover the same skills on a similar scale. Use our PSAT to SAT score converter to see where you'd likely land, compare that to what counts as a good SAT score for the schools on your list, then pick a date from our SAT test dates guide and give yourself a few months to prepare.

Frequently Asked Questions
When do PSAT scores come out in 2026?
Fall 2026 PSAT/NMSQT scores come out October 22, November 5, or November 12, depending on when your school submitted its tests. Schools see scores two days before students do.
Why is my PSAT score release date different from my friend's?
Release dates are based on when each school submits its tests to College Board, not the day you tested. Schools test on different days in October, so students at different schools can get scores up to three weeks apart.
How do I check my PSAT scores?
Sign in to your College Board account at studentscores.collegeboard.org if you're 13 or older. U.S. students 13 and older can also use the BigFuture School app, signing in with the mobile number they gave on test day or their test registration number. Anyone can get a copy of their score report from their school, which is the way to go if you're under 13.
Why can't I see my PSAT scores in my College Board account?
The most common reason is signing in with a different account than the one tied to the email you entered in Bluebook on test day. It's also possible your school's release date hasn't arrived yet, or your state uses its own timeline. Your school counselor can help you sort it out.
Do I need the BigFuture School app to see my PSAT scores?
No. The app is optional, and it's only available to U.S. students age 13 or older. You sign in with the mobile number you gave on test day or, if you didn't give one, the registration number on your score report or sign-in ticket. Your College Board account shows the same scores, plus a detailed online report with the questions tied to each skill. Your school will also give you a copy of your report, which is the main option for students under 13.
Does my school get my PSAT scores before I do?
Yes, by two days. For example, schools that submitted tests by October 9, 2026 see scores on October 20, and students see them on October 22.
What time do PSAT scores come out?
College Board doesn't announce a specific time. If your scores aren't up in the morning on your release date, check back later in the day.
Do colleges see my PSAT scores?
No. PSAT scores aren't sent to colleges and aren't part of your college application. The PSAT/NMSQT does matter for National Merit, which can lead to recognition and scholarships.
When will I find out if I qualify for National Merit?
Juniors who took the PSAT/NMSQT find out in September of senior year, when Commended Students and Semifinalists are announced. You can estimate your chances now by comparing your Selection Index to last year's state cutoffs.
When do PSAT 10 and PSAT 8/9 scores come out?
For spring 2027, scores come out April 1, April 15, April 29, or May 13, depending on when your school submitted its tests. Fall PSAT 8/9 scores follow the same October 22, November 5, and November 12 schedule as the PSAT/NMSQT.
